This paper deals with the systematical reasons why Kant thought that his critical philosophy was not finished and needed a transition from the metaphysical to the physical Foundations. The first section deals with the overall systematical problem that it is not possible to derive from the formal grounds of experience and physics (KrV and MAN) to a principle a priori granting for the unity of experience in physics. Because we presuppose in physics that all its pieces of knowledge belong to one system of physics such a principle a priori must exist indeed. In the second and third section the two strategies are discussed at which lines Kant tried to bring about such a principle a priori. First the doctrine of ether and second the doctrine of self positing.
