Abstract

I want to explore the notion of a transcendental argument concerning religion, specifically how Kant approached religion from the a priori perspective of pure reason. I am interested in the way in which Kant considers the reasonableness of religion, typically regarded as reason's contrary, and how he might be taken to solve the apparent conflict between pure and impure elements of religion, arising from his particular transcendental stance. What is at stake here is the very possibility of religion. The answer to that question takes the form of a transcendental argument of sorts.
