Kant’s remarks about the significance (or lack thereof) of irrational number concepts place the irrationals in a unique conceptual position in relation to arithmetic, geometry and algebra. In this paper I argue that they also provide a unique perspective that has been underestimated on the nature of arithmetical construction of concepts in pure intuition.
