Abstract

Kant's rational account of science is usually interpreted as too restrictive in the light of post-Newtonian advances. This apparent restriction is best understood as Kant's attempt to provide a primary matrix of sense for any possible mathematical physics, inasmuch as it reflects the "first idea" constitutive of the Copernican Revolution.
